Amy Lewis Tampa Bay Doula

AMY LEWIS, CLC, CLD, CPPS, CPID

Amy is the co-owner of Buddha Belly. She is passionate about assisting women through life's most challenging transitions and nurtures a lifelong commitment to women in serving mothers as a doula.

She is certified by ProDoula as a labor doula, postpartum and infant care doula and postpartum specialist. She was certified by the Healthy Children Project and the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice as a lactation counselor and is a birth, newborn and breastfeeding educator.

She is thrilled to welcome clients of all backgrounds to the agency, regardless of religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or cultural background.

In five years as a doula, she has supported hundreds of families in labor and birth in hospitals and birth centers and in their homes. She is privileged to help new and growing families recover in the hospital and at home after the arrival of their newest members. She has partictular experience working with families of multiples, VBACs and cesarean births, and high-risk pregnancies and births.

Amy began her professional career in another role supporting people: human resources. She spent 15 years in talent acquisition and management, including seven years as an executive practice leader in start up think tank and professional membership association. She is proud to apply her extensive business expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to Buddha Belly. Now she is honored to bring this professionalism along with her birth and postpartum work to the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a vision of the University of South Florida, as a Doula-Consultant, facilitating Labor Support Skills workshops for hospital-based maternity care providers around our great state of Florida.

She is committed to providing compassionate, calm and balanced care for all families. She has facilitated groups for mothers and parents on postpartum support, babywearing, breastfeeding support and peaceful parenting. She and her husband Bradley are the proud parents of three little girls.
