The Placenta Encapsulation Process

- Postpartum Placenta Specialist certification through ProDoula
Your placenta never leaves your possession, guaranteeing it is transported and stored properly, and that it is your placenta in your capsules. We prepare and encapsulate it in your home exclusively. This ensures no cross-contamination with other placentas. During the process, you are welcome to have as much or as little involvement as you wish. If you choose to observe the process our specialist will happily explain what she is doing and why.
Every Buddha Belly Placenta Specialist is also a professional postpartum doula.
You get the added benefit of her caring and compassionate expertise for two consecutive days while she is in your home. And, we will always leave you with a sparkling, clean and sanitized kitchen!
Coordination with your Hospital
Our local Tampa Bay hospitals are very familiar with patients requesting the release of their placentas and all hospitals in our service area allow it. Each may have their own release policies and procedures. We recommend letting your providers and birth team know your plan. When the time comes, nurses and staff will assist you to organize the release of your placenta.
Every client will receive:
- A transportation supply kit, to safely transport your placenta home from the birth facility
- Instructions for transporting and storing your placenta
- A certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist who completes the entire service in your home
- Our specialist brings all the sterilized materials and equipment
- 100 - 200+ capsules depending on the size of your unique placenta
- Detailed consumption guidelines, and a cord keepsake
- Placenta tincture may be added
