I could not have asked for a better birth experience – Christina, Tampa

I was honored to provide doula services for this lovely family. This was the birth of their second child, Selah Grace.

Christina and John hired me to be their doula very early in her pregnancy and we had a lot of time to get prepared. In addition to the doula care that I provided and when I was not involved in hands-on physical support, I took some photos during labor and birth. The were edited by Christina, who is a photographer by trade. "When I contacted Christie, I was very specific about the type of birth experience I desired with my daughter. This was my second pregnancy and my first birth was traumatizing. I had all kinds of medical interventions that ended up making my birth experience with my son difficult and hard to look back on.

Because of that, I knew that I wanted this one to be completely natural and the only way to attain that was to bring a doula onto my birth team. When I first talked to Christie on the phone, I knew that she would be the doula for me. She was kind, knowledgeable and assertive. She answered every one of my questions with wisdom and experience and from that point on, she was always available to me.
I had A LOT of questions and concerns. Christie always listened to me with a compassionate ear and provided an abundance of resources including books, DVDs, and online articles to further prepare me for my daughter's birth. She even came to one of my prenatal doctor's appointments and talked with my doctor.

She was kind of my voice when I had no idea what to say or ask. As my daughter's due date approached, Christie stayed in constant contact with me. And then her birthday was here!

I could not have asked for a better birth experience - it was beautiful and I attained everything I wanted out of her birth because of Christie's coaching. Again, she was my voice. She talked with the nurses so I could work through contractions without losing my rhythm. She calmed me when I was scared and assured me that I could do it. Having her there made me brave, in a sense.

I could not have gotten through it without her constant encouragement. She was very knowledgeable in putting me in different positions to help with contractions and to help move my baby into position.
She is a wealth of wisdom when it comes to natural birth! My husband and I are so happy with the outcome of our daughter's birth and we are so thankful that Christie was on our side."
