It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over and our kids are going back to school in twelve days. We have a blended family and my oldest son spends almost every weekend away with his father. This makes summer the one time of year we get to spend a lot of time with the whole family doing fun things, not just taking care of the day to day school routine, homework, etc.
It went by too fast, but as summer comes to an end we do look forward to moving on to the next phase of the year. Besides there is Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas to look forward to anyway (especially in the mind of a five or ten year old!)
At the beginning of the summer this year I made a big list of possible places we could go for entertainment.
I should have shared it sooner, but it’s never too late and it will be here for us next summer when we are looking for fun things to do again.
So here it is:
7. Kids World of Play. I personally love going to this place because they have free wifi, sell food, coffee and tables set up for adults to sit and watch the kids. My kids are old enough to entertain themselves while I get a little bit of work done on my laptop (and there is so little time for work during summer break.)
10.
Free Kids Summer Movie Escape at Cobb Theatres. There are Cobb theaters in: Clearwater, Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Hyde Park & St. Petersburg. Their summer program offers free kids movies in the mornings 3 days a week. This year we saw “Storks” for free in the theaters!
15. Our swimming pool. Ha!
27.
Kids Bowl Free All Summer– registered kids receive 2 free games of bowling all summer long. Select bowling alleys across the country are participating including Countryside Lanes in Clearwater!
31. Kayaking
36. Future Flipz Gymnasium – They have a 2 for 1 special discount on Tuesdays mornings!
We hope you enjoyed your summer as much as well did. Let us know what fun places you have on your list!
