CHRISTIE COLLBRAN, CLD, CLC, PCPD
Christie believes in helping women recognize their own inner wisdom, strength and power. Having served as President of the Tampa Bay Birth Network for six years and with ten years serving families as a birth doula, she has a reputation for leadership, dedication and compassion.
Perhaps her greatest natural asset is her ability to connect with her clients on a personal level and her greatest professional strength is her knowledge and experience. A childbirth educator, certified lactation counselor as well as a certified doula, she makes a point of ensuring mothers and their partners understand all their birthing options and what to expect on their journey.
Christie also specializes in supporting women that are planning to have a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Her first son was delivered by cesarean. Her second son was born vaginally, a peaceful homebirth. Her vast experience with different birth settings and outcomes, and her positive, calm state of mind makes her an invaluable member of any birth team.
As the founder and co-owner of Buddha Belly, Christie ensures her own standards of professionalism and consistency of care are applied by all Buddha Belly Birth doulas and that each of them have the mentoring and support needed to be extraordinary doulas in their own right.
Starting in 2017 Christie has also worked as a consultant and trainer with the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a department under the University of South Florida. The project aims to improve the quality of care for Florida families by teaching Labor Support Skills workshops to nurses across the state. Workshops have been held at over 15 hospitals to date, training nearly 500 nurses with excellent results.
